Import & Export range

PreviousImport & ExportNextGCS (Beta)

With the following actions, you can save a part of the show and reuse it in another.

This is useful when:

  • you want to change the orientation and position of the show.

  • you want to assemble several shows together.

To reuse a show range:

  1. Export the show range from the original show with Export range.

  2. Import the show range in a new show with Import range.

  3. Translate and rotate the imported drones to the new position and orientation.

  4. Transition the drones of the new show to the imported drones with Go to target.

  5. Transfer the color and fire events of the imported drones to the drones of the new show with Link import.

Export range

To export a show range, you need to select the start and end frame of the range in the timeline and select the drones you want to export.

Then you can click on the "Export range" button to create a JSON file with the show range.

You should never export the takeoff and land of the drones. They should be redone for each import range.

Import range

Import range creates new imported drones in the Import collection.

The imported drones cannot be used directly.

They must be linked to the drones of the show from the Family collection.

Import range imports the position, color, and fire events starting from the current frame.

Translate and rotate the imported drones

You can translate and rotate the imported show with Import Origin.

You can also shift the keyframes of the imported drones in the timeline to change the start frame of the imported drones.

Go to target

To transition the drones of the new show to the imported drones, you need to select the drones of the new show and the imported drones.

Then you can click on Go to target to create the transition.

The start of the transition should be after the last keyframe of the drones of the new show.

The end of the transition should be before the first keyframe of the imported drones.

Link import

Now that the drones of the new show are in the same position as the imported drones after the transition, you can link the imported drones to the drones of the new show with Link import.

The color and fire events of the imported drones will be transferred to the drones of the new show.

The position is already done with the transition.
