# Formation

## What is a formation?

A formation is a form where the drones are placed.

The drones during the show will move from one formation to another.

## How to create a formation?

A formation is created from a mesh or a bezier curve.

Anchors are added where drones should be placed (see [Mesh](/lsc2/show-creation/formation/mesh.md#anchors-handling)).

Once anchors are placed, the formation is ready to be used for a transition (see [Transition](/lsc2/show-creation/formation/transition.md)).
